Dr. Naveed Khokhar is a board-certified psychiatrist with over a decade of clinical experience spanning general psychiatry, neuropsychiatry, psychosomatic medicine, and advanced interventional treatments. He is widely recognized for his integrative, patient-centered approach, combining cutting-edge neuroscience with compassionate clinical care. Dr. Khokhar has trained and practiced at some of the nation’s most respected academic medical centers and brings a depth of expertise to patients facing complex and treatment-resistant psychiatric conditions.

Expert Inpatient Psychiatry, Neuropsychiatry & Geriatric Care Experience
Following fellowship training, Dr. Khokhar served on the inpatient psychiatry team at the Cleveland Clinic, where he treated individuals with complex and treatment-resistant conditions, including mood disorders, psychotic disorders, trauma-related illnesses, and co-occurring substance use disorders.
He later joined the neuropsychiatry and geriatric psychiatry service, providing specialized care for patients with neurodegenerative diseases, dementia, and late-life psychiatric conditions complicated by medical comorbidities.
Interventional & Specialized Psychiatric Care
In 2022, Dr. Khokhar joined UT Southwestern Medical Center as faculty, where he helped pioneer one of the nation’s first inpatient accelerated Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) programs.
- He remains actively involved in delivering interventional psychiatric treatments, including:
- Electroconvulsive Therapy (ECT)
- Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS)
- Esketamine therapy
These advanced modalities are used to treat complex mood disorders, psychosis, OCD, PTSD, and psychosomatic conditions.
