Dr. Naveed Khokhar is a board-certified psychiatrist with over a decade of clinical experience across general psychiatry, neuropsychiatry, psychosomatic medicine, and interventional treatments including ECT, TMS, and Esketamine. Known for his integrative and patient-centered approach, Dr. Khokhar has trained and practiced at some of the nation’s leading academic medical centers.
He completed his psychiatry residency at the Cleveland Clinic, followed by a fellowship in psychosomatic medicine, focusing on the complex interplay between psychiatry, medicine, neurology, and surgical conditions. His clinical philosophy is rooted in a deep understanding of the biological and neurochemical foundations of mental illness, with an emphasis on identifying root causes to guide diagnosis and treatment.
Following fellowship, Dr. Khokhar served on the inpatient psychiatry team at the Cleveland Clinic, where he treated patients with treatment-resistant depression, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, PTSD, OCD, and co-occurring substance use disorders. He later joined the neuropsychiatry and geriatric psychiatry unit, providing specialized care for individuals with neurodegenerative diseases, dementia, and late-life psychiatric disorders complicated by medical comorbidities.
In 2022, Dr. Khokhar joined the faculty at UT Southwestern Medical Center, where he currently serves as Assistant Professor of Psychiatry. There, he helped pioneer one of the nation’s first inpatient accelerated TMS programs and remains actively involved in providing interventional treatments—ECT, TMS, and Esketamine—for complex mood disorders, psychosis, OCD, PTSD, and psychosomatic conditions.
Alongside his academic role, Dr. Khokhar brings his clinical expertise to private practice, offering personalized, evidence-based psychiatric care for individuals facing challenging psychiatric and neuropsychiatric conditions.
